Community Safety and Police
Help the police help you.
Notice something out of the ordinary? Kids hanging out during school hours, trucks loading up in front of a vacationing neighbors house or perhaps a large, wheeled trash can being pushed down the alley by a stranger.
Just make a courtesy call to the direct dial number of the Long Beach Police, 562-435-6711, and tell them something doesn’t look right and let them investigate.
The police like to get these types of calls and know that only 1 in 10 are really a crime in action. Better safe than sorry.
Reverse 911?? The police can contact you in an emergency!
The Long Beach Police have announced a great new program that allows your city government and safety officers to notify you via email, or text alerts, to emergency alerts that affect your zip code area. You can even change the zip codes to reflect your travel destinations!
Just go to www.Nixle.com, input your zip code in the top right of the web page and follow the prompts to complete your FREE notification.
